Fundraising – Where you can help!
A prize will also be awarded to the lifter who raises the most money from their sponsors (optional for competitors to help raise funds for the program). Enlist your friends and family to donate based on how many reps you estimate you will be able to do or ask for a flat donation to sponsor you! Competitors must submit all funds on the day of the event to receive the prize. CASH or VENMO/PayPal ONLY, NO CHECKS ACCEPTED.
How It Works
Body weight will be recorded at check-in.
Bench – Weights will be rounded up or down to closest 5 lb increment
- Men lift 100% of bodyweight for as many reps as possible
- Women lift 50% of bodyweight for as many reps as possible
Deadlift – Weights will be rounded up or down to closest 5 lb increment
- Men lift 125%% of bodyweight for as many reps as possible
- Women lift 100% of bodyweight for as many reps as possible
All reps will be judged for integrity and for the safety of the lifter. Your reps will be graded by our judges. Reps with diminished form may be deducted. Lifting stops when failure is reached or when the judges have signaled that they observe consecutive diminished form of reps or pauses exceeding two seconds. In this case, the head judge will say STOP, and your reps will be complete.
Bench Press Rules
Competitors may receive a lift off. Your reps will only commence once your lift off helper is clear of the bar and under only your control. You will hear a START command when you are clear to begin your reps. All repetitions must be controlled under full range of motion. (From lift off position, touch chest, return to starting position.)
No chest sinking, no belly bouncing, no visible resting at chest or lock out allowed.
Competitors will be asked to tuck t-shirt in for lift. Upper back/shoulders and glutes must always hold contact with bench pad. Feet must always remain in the same position and in contact with the floor. Flat footed allowed, heels up also allowed.
No rest at the top or bottom of movement
Deadlift Rules
You may begin your reps after receiving a START command. Lifters must keep arms straight and achieve a full lock-out of each rep with their shoulders behind the barbell and knees locked. Not allowed: Hitching the bar (supporting the weight on the legs) or downward movement after the bar begins to ascend. Lifters may not drop the bar or move their grip on the bar at any time. No rest at the top or bottom of movement
